Braille cards in Romania
We believe everyone should have equal access to financial services and are committed to providing innovative solutions that improve accessibility for all our customers.
That is why we offer the solution with Braille characters, both for bank and non-bank cards, based on a proprietary technology developed by SIBS, available in Portugal but also in other countries such as Romania.
The SIBS solution enables blind and visually impaired users to distinguish between different types of cards, allowing them to independently identify banking, loyalty, access or other purpose cards, including debit, credit and prepaid cards .
This initiative is part of our inclusion strategy, alongside other solutions such as the introduction of a crescent-shaped cutout on cards in 2018, which facilitates tactile identification for the visually impaired.
The Braille Card was created as part of a strategic collaboration between SIBS and ACAPO, a renowned Private Institution of Social Solidarity in Portugal, established in 1989. Dedicated to representing citizens with visual impairments and promoting awareness of their inclusion, ACAPO has brought invaluable expertise to this initiative.
Through this joint effort, we aspire to positively impact the lives of the visually impaired, setting a precedent for inclusive and accessible financial services.
